Psychotherapy is a personalized approach to help you improve your life and achieve your goals. Also known as talk therapy, psychotherapy is informed by evidence-based interventions, and shown to improve emotional, psychological, and physical well-being. It is indicated to treat a wide array of mental health diagnoses or in the pursuit of personal understanding and growth. Decades of scholarly evidence highlight the effectiveness of psychotherapy and the importance of a strong therapeutic relationship in the change process.  While everyone’s journey is unique, the majority of people who receive psychotherapy experience symptom relief, personal growth, and improvements in their ability to function optimally or find meaning and purpose in their lives.

Psychologists are highly trained, doctoral level professionals with expertise in mental health assessment, general and specialty treatment interventions, the conducting and interpreting of scientific research, interpersonal dynamics and processes, and the dissemination of educational and scientific information. Psychologists have a strong theoretical and academic foundation for all of their work, and are experts in evidence-based treatment interventions and mental health and wellness. Psychologists bring a unique skill set to the treatment room and are known for being interpersonally effective, emotionally sensitive, and sophisticated practitioners and professionals. There is tremendous value in choosing psychology and in working with a licensed clinical psychologist on your wellness journey!

YVJ offers three types of coaching sessions – parenting, performance, and executive/career. Coaching sessions are distinct from psychotherapy and focus on specific goals, problem solving, skill building, or performance enhancement. While psychotherapy can be incredibly transformative, we know that it may not always be the right option or meet all needs. Coaching begins with a consultation session to discuss your individual needs and goals, during which a collaborative coaching plan will be created. Service Locations

We are currently able to offer clinical services throughout Connecticut and New York. Dr. Jenn and Dr. Jess have been providing clinical services via telehealth for more than 7 years and are considered experts in this modality. We are frequently sought out by healthcare systems to train other providers in telehealth best practices. Our office location for in-person sessions is in downtown Fairfield. Based on proximity to Fairfield county in Connecticut, we are able to offer some concierge services into the home or office if preferred.

Our practice is planning to enroll in interjurisdictional compacts in the future in order to expand our practice to other states. A list of PSYPACT participating states can be found here.

Financial Information

While fees vary by service type and length, our standard hourly session rate is $300 for individual psychotherapy or couples therapy. Group psychotherapy starts at $50 per group session and varies by the type and length of the group. Comprehensive diagnostic evaluations are $500 and include measurement-based psychological assessment, record review, and collaborative treatment planning. We know that affording high-quality, doctoral level care is not always easy. We offer lower fees for shorter sessions (30 or 45-minutes) and membership packages (see below) to increase the affordability of care. We are also able to provide monthly superbills in order for you to utilize out-of-network insurance coverage (insurance companies reimburse you directly for services). Please email us for a full list of services and associated costs.

Monthly Membership

We offer a Monthly Membership wellness package where you can pay a flat, discounted rate for weekly or twice a month sessions in order to reduce costs. Our weekly therapy package is available for $1,000 and includes 4 sessions a month. Our biweekly package is $500 a month and includes 2 sessions a month. We are also able to offer a discounted rate to U.S. military veterans ($200 a session) and are passionate about serving this population.

Please contact us for information about our specialty services (executive coaching, parenting coaching, clinical supervision, or leadership and management training) or to learn more about speaking and consulting engagements.

Coordination of Your Care

We believe it is important to coordinate care with your other providers. If this is relevant for your treatment, we will ask you to sign a release of information form and then work with you and your other healthcare providers to provide a collaborative and comprehensive care experience.

A scheduled appointment means that the time with one of our doctors has been reserved for you. If an appointment is missed or canceled with less than 24 hours notice, you will be billed directly according to your scheduled fee.

Health care providers are required by law to give clients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. A Good Faith Estimate is not a bill. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services. You can ask your provider at YVJ for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

Some states participate in Healthcare Information Exchange (HIE) programs. HIE’s are systems that allow healthcare providers to share and access patient health information in order to improve care coordination and communication across different providers and healthcare systems. The Connecticut program is called Connie; more information (including how to opt-out of the HIE if preferred) is available here: https://www.conniect.org/. For information about the New York eHealth Collaborative and its HIE programs (including how to opt-out), visit: https://nyehealth.org/.
