Dr. Jennifer Doran is a clinical psychologist who is licensed in New York and Connecticut. She graduated with honors from The New School for Social Research in their clinical psychology doctorate program.
Her clinical and research expertise is in PTSD treatment and helping individuals heal from complex trauma, psychotherapy process and outcome, assessment, and best practices for telemental health. She is an established leader in the field and a passionate advocate for mental health and wellness for all. Most recently, Dr. Doran served as the President of the Connecticut Psychological Association. She holds an academic appointment in the Yale University School of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry.
She is deeply invested in psychology education and training and is a highly regarded educator and public speaker. She has published more than 30 scientific articles and has given numerous national and regional conference presentations. Dr. Doran is regularly featured in the media, with interviews in print and on television and radio. She has recently been featured on NBC Connecticut, in the New England Psychologist, and on Connecticut Public Radio’s award-winning show, “For the People.”
Jennifer is the proud mother of two young boys, Ethan (7) and Joshua (4). She lives in Fairfield, Connecticut with her family. She loves being a psychologist and strongly believes that everyone deserves mental health and wellness, and that quality information about psychology should be accessible to all.
Jennifer loves music and the arts in all its forms, cooking, baking with her kids, traveling, living by the beach, seasonal adventures, holidays and planning parties, and spending time with friends and family. She loves to teach and loves to learn. Jennifer believes that laughter truly is the best medicine and is grateful to have so many people in her life and as part of her village that make her laugh and smile.
